FAILURE OF FLUORIDE DOSING SYSTEM AT WELLINGTON

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) wishes to advise residents in Wellington of a mechanical equipment failure of the Fluoride Dosing System at Wellington’s Water Treatment Plant.

Due to a mechanical equipment failure, fluoride is not currently provided in Wellington’s potable water supply.

Council has been in contact with NSW Health and alerted them to the situation.

The entirety of Wellington’s potable water supply is affected including Wellington township, Montefiores, Nanima Village, Wellington Caves, Wellington Correctional Centre and Macquarie Correctional Centre.

Operational staff have ordered the replacement equipment. The estimated delivery time for the replacement equipment is currently end of July 2023.

The water produced at the Wellington Water Treatment Plant meets the required control points for provision of safe drinking water and as such is suitable for consumption.
