FLOOD WARNING – DUBBO AND WELLINGTON

UPDATE 11.45AM, FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER (DUBBO)

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) working closely with SES and local Police will implement the following closures as a measure to ensure the safety of the community following a moderate flood warning for the Macquarie River at Dubbo later this afternoon.

At 1pm, Friday 16 September 2022 DRC will close:

  • Bligh Street Dubbo at the corner of the Newell Highway Dubbo through to Talbragar Street Dubbo.
  • Dubbo Visitor Information Centre Car Park
  • Macquarie Regional Library Car Park, Dubbo.

Staff are preparing measures in the event Serisier Bridge will have to be closed. Please stay up to date with road closures via DRC’s website. If commuters have parked their vehicles in the Bligh Street area, please remain on standby to move them.

UPDATE 10.10AM, FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER (DUBBO AND WELLINGTON)

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) wishes to advise the community that there are multiple road and pedestrian foot bridge closures throughout the local government area due to flooding of the Bell River in Wellington and predicted flooding of the Macquarie River in Dubbo.

DRC is working closely with the local SES units and implementing precautions for the Serisier Bridge in Dubbo and Bligh Street in Dubbo. Commuters that frequently use this thoroughfare are urged to check DRC’s website and if possible take another route. If commuters have parked their vehicles in the Bligh Street area, please remain on standby to move them if the road closes.
