The NSW Office of Local Government is helping councils across the state hire and support young people like you through apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships. It’s all about building strong local workforces and helping young people kickstart their career.

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships combine on-the-job practical training with an employer, and formal training with a training provider. While undertaking an apprenticeship you will learn new skills while working, leading to a nationally recognised qualification for work in a specific job role and industry.

Tourism
An exciting opportunity to work alongside our tourism team and the public in promoting Dubbo, Wellington and surrounding villages as destinations of choice for visitors, all while undertaking formal training towards a Certificate III in Tourism.
Applications are open until 9am on Wednesday 29 October 2025; Dubbo Regional Council 2025 Traineeship Tourism.
Cadetships
Cadetships are available for students completing higher education level study, where they are in their second-to-last or last year of study. A cadet will work with an employer in a relevant field while completing their studies.
