CALL FOR REPRESENTATIVES OF AUDIT, RISK AND IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE

Dubbo Regional Council is calling for nominations from interested and qualified persons who would like to be considered as an independent member of Council’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.

This Committee receives reports from staff and provides independent assurance to the Council by monitoring, reviewing and providing advice about Council’s governance processes, compliance, risk management and control frameworks, external accountability obligations and overall performance.

The committee includes three independent representatives who will receive remuneration for their participation in the committee.  One of the independent members will also become the Committee Chairperson. 

Current remuneration rates are $1,375 (excluding GST) per meeting for the Committee Chairperson and $1,100 (excluding GST) per meeting for the remaining independent members.

This remuneration is inclusive of all costs related to the requirements of the position including (but not limited to) travel, printing, preparation, attendance and follow up time. Online attendance to meetings is available.

Under Council’s newly adopted Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee Charter the Committee is appointed for a two year term starting in November 2023, subject to legislative changes. The Charter requires the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee to meet at least four times per year.
