MARK IT IN THE DIARY: DUBBO ART FAIR
Mark it in the diary. The Dubbo Art Fair, held annually at the Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC), will showcase regional emerging artists from 13 - 14 September 2025.
Over 40 artists will display their works in the gallery space in September to showcase and sell their art. The event is now in its fifth year and has established itself as the largest art fair west of the Blue Mountains in its short history.
“This event is a great opportunity for the community to purchase an original artwork that has been created right here in our region,” Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said.
Dubbo Art Fair is a great platform for regional artists to gain exposure for their work and interact with the community to give people insight into their creative process. For many local artists it is the first opportunity to showcase their art in a public setting.
“The Dubbo Art Fair supports the creative sector and contributes to the local economy. Last year artists collectively sold over $60,000 worth of art at the Dubbo Art Fair. An amount that grows every year and goes directly back into our region,” Clr Black said.
The Dubbo Art Fair consistently attracts over 1,800 visitors to the event each year.
“The response from the community to the Dubbo Art Fair is always really positive with artists eager to showcase and sell their art. It’s particularly exciting to see new artists and emerging talent exhibiting for the first time this year,” Dubbo Regional Council Curator Kent Buchanan said.
“This year we will once again have a diverse range of artists on display, highlighting the depth of talent in our region,” Mr Buchanan said.
The Dubbo Art Fair is supported by Dubbo Regional Council and Create NSW. The Dubbo Art Fair is an initiative of Council’s Cultural Plan.
The official opening for the Dubbo Art Fair will take place on Friday 12 September at 6pm, with the event open to the community from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 13 September and Sunday 14 September 2025. Admission is free.
