TICKETS ON SALE FOR THE 2022 THEATRE SEASON LAUNCH

It’s been a long year (or two) but now it’s time for the reveal of the twelfth season of touring shows at Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) on Sunday 28 November, 2021, at 1pm.

The season launch is a much anticipated sneak preview of the exciting line-up of shows coming to the award-winning venue in 2022. More so this year, as it also marks the first theatre event since coming out of lockdown. The season launch, sponsored by Kings Hall Jewellers, is a great opportunity to catch up with friends in the theatre, sit back and relax with a drink, enjoy local talent and the unmasking of the 2022 season program.

It has been another challenging year for the events industry and the team at DRTCC are looking forward with optimism and a jovial spirit to deliver the 2022 season in its entirety. Their sense of humour will be evident with the season theme which is under wraps until the end of the month.

Manager, Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, Linda Christof is excited to reveal the season theme and line-up of 22 shows in 2022.

“We have had a lot of fun developing the season theme and selecting the shows. After 18 months of reschedules, stop starts and gloomy news reports we thought we would inject more comedy, cabaret and kids shows into the program. Being the first live event to be held at the theatre since lockdown, tickets are being snapped up as soon as they went on sale. There’s a feeling in the community of, this is it, we can safely return to the theatre and enjoy live performance again”.

Unlike last year’s launch when the capacity was capped at 80 people and patrons had to grab their goodies bag and be on their way to avoid mingling, this year we can be more relaxed. With capacity at 75%, the bar open, and the opportunity to stay back after the launch and chat with friends or pour over the jam-packed season booklet from your gift bag. With the event being hosted in November, under the government COVIDSafe rules, event patrons will be required to follow the check-in requirements and wear masks when not eating or drinking. Whilst it is not a requirement for socially distanced seating between groups of people, the DRTCC team will do this out of courtesy at the Launch to make patrons feel at ease for their first event.

Doors open at 12 noon, patrons can take their complimentary beverage into the theatre auditorium, sit back and enjoy a rolling display of social pics from previous show nights before the Launch begins at 1 pm.

Manager Regional Events, Kim Hague, said; “It’s a great artistic program, with a couple of carry over shows but the majority being new touring shows. It’s also an ideal event if you are a ‘newbie’ and want to learn more about the benefits of being a subscriber and the special deals you can tap into before they are open for general sale towards the end of January.”

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased by phoning the Box Office on 6801 4378 or online at the DRTCC website www.drtcc.com.au

This year’s 2021 Season subscribers receive a complimentary ticket to the launch. Bookings are essential.
