Regional Development Australia Orana (RDA Orana)

RDA Orana is an incorporated not-for-profit association led by a regional Board of industry and government representatives supporting economic development across the Orana region. We achieve this by engaging with our business community, building partnerships and working with all governments and agencies to respond to local priorities and needs.

Our region is the largest and most diverse region in the State, covering an area of 25% of NSW. It serves a population of more than 123,000. Our region extends from Mudgee in the east to Bourke in the west. It comprises the local government areas of Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Coonamble, Dubbo Region, Gilgandra, Mid-Western Region, Narromine, Walgett, Warren and Warrumbungle.

We are the only organisation in the region that has a helicopter view of the entire region, looking across all industries and all local government areas. Our purpose is to support the development of the Orana Region by anticipating and communicating about change, facilitating industry collaboration, encouraging public and private investment and supporting cooperation between all stakeholders.

Our priorities include workforce development, a low-emissions future and the provision of regional intelligence for informed decision-making. We often provide evidence-based advocacy on behalf of the region, on key issues. We deliver migration services to the region, focusing on skilled visa pathways, including through the Orana Designated Area Migration Agreement.

We also provide fee-for-service research and grant writing to our regional stakeholders.

The Exchange

We are a social impact organisation supporting a diverse and, at times, geographically isolated community of founders. We provide co-working desks, private offices, meeting rooms and event space, as well as a vast community network that gives people in regional Australia the best chance at commercial success in their own businesses.

We are a community, co-working and office space that, first and foremost, aims to build confidence, capacity and capability to increase the chance of commercial success of start-ups, those scaling businesses, and even those still sitting on the fence.

In the past four years, our start-up has evolved and grown to thrive in our region and beyond, operating across three core pillars of impact and expanding to new sites. The opportunity to connect, learn and grow is far-reaching. We have an online following of over 6000, a community of over 600 members, over 150 events marked off the calendar, our one-of-a-kind Clock Tower in the main street of Dubbo, and brand new locations expanding our impact on the way!
