DUKE OF WELLINGTON BRIDGE REMAINS CLOSED

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) advises residents the Duke of Wellington Bridge at Wellington remains closed to the public.

The bridge was damaged by major flooding at Wellington in 2022, with both sides of the approach roads washed away.

There remains a high risk in the area and the ground surrounding the bridge is still dangerous and unstable.

The bridge will need to undergo a structural assessment in the near future.

DRC has been made aware of vandalism at the site with a number of barriers erected for public safety being broken down.

Fishing and any other activity off the bridge is prohibited.
