HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE MACQUARIE RIVER MASTERPLAN BEFORE 17 FEBRUARY

RESIDENTS have until close of business on Friday to have their say on the Final Draft Macquarie River Corridor North and South Precinct Master Plan which is currently on public exhibition.

The public exhibition period closes on 17 February.

The master plan was placed on public exhibition during December 2022 with an extended period to assist
residents in having enough time to have their say during the Christmas period.

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) Manager Recreation and Open Spaces Ian McAlister said there have been 22 submissions received so far for the plan.

We are hoping we have addressed the concerns of the community already but we do still need to hear from residents to see if we have it right.”

Mr McAlister said there had been good support in the comments so far in regards to the strong environmental restoration component.

“There have also been a number of good suggestions for inclusion into the master plan, which will be considered in the broader context of the plan,” he said.

Residents are able to comment via DRCs website which allows comments on individual sections of the master plan or the plan as a whole.

A review of the Final Draft Master Plan will be undertaken based on community feedback before a report is provided to Council in March.

The master plan extends from the Nita McGrath netball precinct to Devil’s Hole at the northern end and from Lady Cutler Ovals to Shibble Bridge at the southern end.
