TEMPORARY WATER RESTRICTIONS NOW LIFTED – DUBBO

Dubbo Regional Council would like to advise residents the temporary water restrictions have now been lifted.

Community cooperation since the restrictions were enacted on Saturday morning has allowed DRC to build up the water storage in the reservoirs and the John Gilbert Water Treatment Plant is now working as normal and at full capacity.

DRC CEO Murray Wood thanked the community and staff for their assistance.

“Staff have been working around the clock since Friday to prevent a boiled water alert. I thank them and thank the community for their cooperation over the past 24 hours in helping us to maintain the standard we need too.”

During the process the water produced by the treatment process has met the required control points for provision of safe drinking water

This is a separate issue to the Geosmin and associated odour and taste, which DRC are continuing to work on.
