DUBBO LIBRARY TEMPORARY CLOSURE FOR RETILING
The Macquarie Regional Library Dubbo branch will be temporarily closing for four days in October while the access ramp and entrance to the branch is retiled.
The Library will be closed from Saturday 28 October to Tuesday 31 October 2023 inclusive.
The tiled area at the main entrance on Talbragar St and the Emergency exit ramp on Macquarie Street will have the sub-structure replaced and be fully retiled as part of maintenance work to improve the safety and access to the Dubbo branch.
During the temporary closure period the community can access the Macquarie Regional Library’s Book express home delivery and Books to Boot collection services on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 October for free. To organise free delivery or a collection service, contact the Dubbo Library team on weekdays during business hours.
Library items will able to be returned to the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre between 9am – 5pm whilst the library is temporarily closed.
“Due dates will be extended for this period to ensure they fall after the closure period however, if members of the community wish to return their library items during the closure they can do so to the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre,” Macquarie Regional Library Manager Kathryn McAlister said.
The Macquarie Regional Library online e-resources library will be available to access 24/7. The online library features a great variety of resources with over 40,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks, nearly 5,000 eMagazines as well as online films and eNewspapers.
“If the community hasn’t utilised the online library and e-resources before, the library team are more than happy to assist before the temporary closure takes place so they can learn how to access and borrow e-resources online.”
“There will also be no regular Tuesday storytime session on Tuesday 31 October, it will return to normal the following Tuesday.”
“Whilst we realise the temporary closure will be a short term inconvenience to our library users we have tried to ensure services are still available just in a slightly different way,” Mrs McAlister said.
