DO YOU DREAM OF ORGANISING A SUCCESSFUL FESTIVAL?

Dubbo Regional Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from not-for-profit cultural and community groups to run the 2024 DREAM Festival.

The DREAM Festival began in 2010 with the creation of Events Dubbo Inc. Following the 2019 DREAM Festival, Events Dubbo Inc asked Council to deliver the event as the scope was beyond their capacity.

The 2023 event saw 11,749 people on site during the 10-hour DREAM event at Victoria Park, with 8,968 people recorded on site just before the lantern parade at 7pm.

The day was filled with stage performances, mostly by local groups and the community had a choice of 75 stall holders, children’s activities and an art installation to wander amongst during the event.

In 2024 Council is seeking a community-based organisation to run the festival, with funding support of $40,000 for the organisation, planning and delivery of DREAM.

“We hear the community and we understand that this event is important to them, so we want them to be involved and volunteer to support a local cultural or community group to deliver the DREAM Festival.”

“Council will provide event support in line with standard practices, in addition to the $40,000, for an organisation to undertake this festival,” Ms Christof said.

Expressions of Interest are now open and will close on Sunday, 21 April, 2024.

A document is available on the website to outline Council’s expectations in regard to the delivery of the event for those groups wishing to express their interest.
