ACCESSIBLE ARTS COMEDY HITS THE DRTCC STAGE THIS AUGUST

Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) is set to host the hilarious, accessible comedy Are You Pulling My Leg? this month.

Showcasing some of Australia’s funniest comedians with disability or chronic illness, this raucous accessible comedy event boasts a line-up of award-winning performers.

With razor-sharp wit and undeniable charm, the artist line-up brings to the stage hilarious and uncensored insights into disability. From awkward encounters to side-splitting observations, no subject is off-limits.

Performing Arts and Venues Coordinator Tiffany Rowland said the DRTCC was delighted to welcome the groundbreaking comedy.

"At DRTCC, we are excited to present Are You Pulling My Leg?, where disabled comedians bring not just laughter, but powerful perspectives.

“Everyone deserves a stage, and comedy is for everyone”

Accessible Arts CEO Liz Martin said they are working with an incredible team of professional comedians who expertly balance humour and advocacy.

“They break down social barriers and make people laugh, engaging and surprising audiences by sharing their real life, entertaining experiences. This show is a powerful agent for change,” Ms Martin said.

The show is captioned and will be live Auslan interpreted to help everyone understand the punchlines.

All venues on the tour, including the DRTCC, have undertaken industry specific, disability-led training through Accessible Arts to upskill disability confidence within their teams.

Are You Pulling My Leg? will be performed on Saturday 23 August 2025 at 7.30pm.

Patrons can secure their tickets by visiting drtcc.com.au, phoning 6801 4378, or visiting the DRTCC Box Office Monday - Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm.

This show is presented by Accessible Arts and Crips and Creeps in association with Arts on Tour with support from Create NSW.
