CONNECT, STUDY AND ACCESS AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY
To celebrate Library and Information Week, which runs from 28 July to 3 August, Macquarie Regional Library is shining a light on its wide range of HSC resources available to local students.
Macquarie Regional Library has an extensive range of HSC and preliminary resources for students to borrow, including course notes, topic tests and prescribed texts. Library members can borrow up to 30 items at a time.
Macquarie Regional Library Acting Manager Anne Barwick said your local library is a wealth of information providing free access to HSC resources and access to a range of databases such as State Library NSW, Gale Research Databases and Britannica Library.
“These resources are available to support year 12 students in our region for their upcoming trial exams in August and the HSC exams in October and November,” Ms Barwick said.
Macquarie Regional Library has recently completed upgrades to the Dubbo Library with new dedicated collaborative and individual spaces that provide study areas for students and community members. The upgrades are thanks to NSW Government Public Library Infrastructure Grant program.
The Wellington Library will be next to be refurbished to improve the utilisation of the space and accessibility for users.
“The HSC trial exams are just around the corner and your local library is a place where you can study, access Wi-Fi, educational resources and helpful staff for free,” Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said.
The Dubbo Library is open from 10am – 6pm during weekdays and 10am – 3pm on Saturdays and 11am – 3pm on Sundays.
“Libraries are a safe and welcoming space where students can come to study. They are home to trusted information with trained librarians who can help students find accurate information,” Clr Black said.
