Feathers will fly in Circa’s exuberant take on Swan Lake when it comes to the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) in November.
Duck Pond, a circus-inspired reimagining of Swan Lake by world-renowned company Circa, is the final performance for DRTCC’s 2025 Program.
Featuring 10 performers and a blend of acrobatics, contemporary dance and aerial artistry the production is full of Circa’s physicality blended with some cheeky humour and contemporary energy.
DRTCC Performing Arts and Venue Coordinator Tiffany Rowland said the team had been working closely with Circa to ensure an amazing performance will be delivered to the audience.
“The acrobatics in Duck Pond are just amazing and we really look forward to bringing this show to our audience,” Ms Rowland said.
“It’s such a large complex show and our team have worked closely with the producer and their staff to ensure the show was suitable for our theatre.
“It’s one of those types of shows that the whole family would really enjoy. The kids will love the jaw-dropping circus acts like the flips and stunts that will keep them glued to the stage, while the parents will understand the underlying layers of satire, emotion and artistry with clever twists on Swan Lake and The Ugly Duckling showing through.”
“I encourage everyone to grab a ticket to this final show of the season. It’s really one not to miss,” Ms Rowland said.
The 70-minute theatrical thrill ride features a sequinned, flipper wearing duck army, a mischievous burlesque black swan and a tale of hapless princes and self-discovery.
The show has sophistication, beauty, humour, silliness and a classic good vs evil storyline, everything you want to see in a live show.
Circa is one of the world’s leading performance companies, featuring some of Australia’s best multi-skilled circus artists.
Don’t miss this unforgettable night of feathers, fun and circus magic.
Tickets are now on sale for Duck Pond, at the DRTCC on Saturday 1 November from 7.30pm.
