READY, SET, READ! WINTER READING CHALLENGE AWAITS

How many books can you conquer this winter? Join the Macquarie Regional Library’s Winter Reading Challenge to help motivate and increase your reading habits during the cooler months.

The Winter Reading Challenge is for all ages and runs from Monday 2 June – Thursday 31 July 2025 via the Beanstack app.

“The Winter Reading Challenge is designed to develop long-lasting reading habits and is the perfect reason to stay indoors and curl up with some good books,” Macquarie Regional Library Manager Kathryn McAlister said.

“Reading is a great way to relax or be entertained and the Macquarie Regional Library has an extensive range of books as well as providing access to a large range of audiobooks and eBooks via apps such as Libby, BorrowBox and Indyreads.”

“The Winter Reading Challenge isn’t just about reading; if you love to listen to audiobooks this also counts too.”

To register, participants need to download the Beanstack app and then register for the Winter Reading Challenge. Participants earn badges for every 20 minutes of reading they log and go in the draw to win great weekly prizes. Each badge earns the participant one ticket into a weekly prize draw.

“Books and audiobooks can be borrowed free of charge with a library card and our friendly staff are here to help you find your next great read. Whether you love gripping crime novels or a non-fiction autobiography, you are bound to find something you’ll love to read at your local library,” said Ms McAlister.
